Technology

No matter how natural you would like your pond to look - good pond maintenance requires pumps, filters and aeration. The oxygen content needs to be regulated, nutrients need to be decomposed and the algae growth must be controlled.

OASE offers innovative technology for every requirement: pumps for large or small ponds. Filters for various pond sizes. Illumination systems for an individual light experience. Electrical systems to facilitate perfect control of the installed pond technology. As well as many varieties of fountain nozzles.

BIOsys filter systems are especially suited for small to even larger ponds of up to 130m³. With Aquamax we can offer you particularly powerful filter pump.

However, fountain pumps should be lifted on a pedestal (like the OASE installation plate), so that they do not get clogged up with mud from the bottom of the pond.

Fountain pumps should however be placed in a raised position (for instance on a specially designed base), so that they do not become clogged up with sludge at the bottom of the pond and sinking dirt.

Further information

An example for an ideal pond shape and the correct placement of the technology: The pump is installed at the deepest point of the pond. The filter is sunk into the ground next to the pond and hidden between the bog plants.

The skimmer is where the most debris, i.e. leaves appears. The most important thing is that the water can circulate. The water should move everywhere in the pond. So called "static areas" (current free surface water) should be avoided.

Even a large BIOsys filter does not disturb the overall impression of your pond if it is hidden behind plants. Ugly hoses can be hidden behind the marginal plant holders.

The pond pump, for example an Aquamax, can be " decorated" with pebbles to blend into the natural appearance. Note: Do not put any pebbles on the strainer basket; that could reduce the performance of the pump.

Even influences like leaves, sun, rain, fish food, fish excrement and fertiliser affect the water quality and need to be controlled with the according measures.
